The Grands Esserts project covers about 12 hectares and involves the State of Geneva Provident Fund, the Real Estate Foundation Veyrier City, and several cooperatives. It aims to create a new district that focuses primarily on housing but also includes commercial activities, services, and facilities. A consultation process took place between municipal and cantonal stakeholders and future builders to establish principles for urbanization, mobility, and the environment.

The State of Geneva Urban Planning Office commissioned a video to showcase the project's progress and the involvement of various actors. The video follows a storyline with seven chapters that highlight the main themes of the public consultation studies. The film was presented during a restitution meeting in March 2023.
